Development of land is constrained by the location and existing features, including trees of varying species, age, ‘value’ and vitality. For the development to achieve planning permission, the trees on the site will have to be surveyed by an arboricultural professional to prove that they have been considered and evaluated. The planning proposal will be accompanied by a ‘head of terms’ method statement, outlining the considered detail to inform the Planning Authority the basis of the proposal. The project arboriculturist will produce an in-depth method statement in accordance with BS 5837:2012 Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction – Recommendations. For your project, Arbsolve will work with the design team and architect and provide the following to achieve planning permission:
- A Tree Survey and Key
- A Constraints Plan – detailing the constraints upon the proposed development from existing trees and the impacts upon the trees caused by the development of the site.
- Arboricultural Impact Assessment – This assessment considers the effects of any tree loss required to implement the design as well as any potentially damaging activities proposed in the vicinity of retained trees.
- Arboricultural Method Statement – The Arboricultural Method Statement specifies the procedures to be used during the development of the site to reduce impacts and to protect the retained trees. Included within the Method Statement are the following:
- A Tree Protection Plan.
- Specifications for all construction processes relative to arboriculture features.
- A Tree Planting Schedule and Specification (as reqd.).
- Aftercare.
